In this gripping session, cybersecurity expert Fares Dahwal pulls back the curtain on the dark web, guiding audiences through a live tour of the digital underworld. He will reveal how it diverges from the familiar web, demonstrate how users connect to it, and expose the threats that thrive in its shadows. With each step, attendees will learn not only how to navigate this space safely, but also why understanding it is essential in an age where the line between the visible and invisible internet grows ever thinner.
Speaker Biography:
Fares Dahwal — Fares Dahwal is a cybersecurity professional and the founder of NASTECH, a New York-based company that specializes in building websites and mobile applications for small to mid-sized businesses, while also providing tailored cybersecurity consulting services. He previously served as a Senior Risk Analyst at Citizens Bank, where he supported critical initiatives in risk management and cloud security. With over five years of experience in both red and blue team operations, Fares has helped secure digital infrastructure for multiple organizations. He holds a Master's degree in Cybersecurity from Rochester Institute of Technology and is certified in CISA and AWS (Cloud Practitioner & Solutions Architect Associate). Fares also leads the AWS User Group in Yemen, where he organizes community events and cloud security awareness sessions for hundreds of emerging professionals across the region.
